Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are currently seeking a talented and driven Cloud Infrastructure Engineer specialising in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for an exciting new tech start-up. As a key player in this start-up, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure that ensures scalability, security, and high performance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions specifically on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise GCP resources for performance, cost, and security

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform

• Monitor and maintain GCP environments to ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance

• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure-related issues quickly and efficiently

• Ensure compliance with security best practices, including data encryption and access management within GCP

• Continuously improve cloud infrastructure processes, ensuring cost optimisation and efficiency

• Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and industry best practices

Tech & Software Requirements:

• Cloud platform: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Infrastructure-as-Code tools: Terraform, Deployment Manager

• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, or similar

• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (GKE)

• Scripting languages: Python, Bash, or similar

• Monitoring and logging tools: Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana

• Version control: Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar

• Networking: VPCs, Subnets, Load Balancers, DNS, VPNs, and Firewalls within GCP

• Security best practices in cloud environments (IAM, encryption, etc.) in GCP

• Familiarity with GCP databases: Cloud SQL, Bigtable, BigQuery, or Firestore
